Franklin Loten Paschal Jr. passed away in peace Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home of Winston-Salem, where he had been for less than a day. A graveside service was held Friday, May 16, 2014, at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 High Point Rd. in Greensboro by Rev. Don Clement. Frank, who was known by many as the Philosopher, was born in Greensboro on November 11, 1946. He earned a degree in Philosophy from Wake Forest University and all of his working life was spent with Piedmont Aviation in reservations and sales. During an active life, he traveled much of the world and enjoyed playing tennis and gardening. Frank was a voracious reader and enjoyed many genres of literature. He served for many years as a volunteer at Forsyth Hospital. He retired to Clemmons and lived a quiet life with his constant feline companion, Simba. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Loten Paschal, Sr. and Melvina Boggan Paschal and by his sister, Judith Lorraine Pemberton. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Faith Paschal Moury and husband Dan; a very special first cousin, Betty Covington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jim Moury, Jane Kane (Pat), Stewart Pemberton, and Stacy Dickinson (Tom); great nieces and nephews, Boggan (Bo), Kendall, Mary Carolyn and Daniel Kane, Brittany Kellison, Ashleigh and Julia Pemberton, and Beckett and Branson Dickinson.
