Sabrina Dawn Barker, 50, of Lewisville passed away unexpectedly in the arms of her loving partner, Lesly Walser, early on Thursday morning while visiting her son and daughter-in-law’s home near Fort Stewart, Georgia. Sabrina, born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on April 4, 1964, she was the daughter of Herman Barker, and wife Gaye, and mother Brenda Viars, and husband Robert. A lifelong North Carolinian, she graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1982. Hard-working and dedicated, Sabrina worked for the North Carolina-based Lowe’s Hardware as a receiving clerk for more than eighteen years. She was exceedingly proud of her son, a sergeant in the United States Army. Daughter, mother, partner, and friend, Sabrina was vibrant, strong-willed, and kind. Sabrina led a life filled with love and joy, she could often be found spending time with her very close sister and best friend, Kim, and her son Brandon, one of the joys of Sabrina’s life. She was a passionate animal lover who, along with her partner, loved spending time with their many animals. Full of life and laughter, Sabrina was an undeniably wonderful woman, and she will be sorely missed. Always a loving person, Sabrina leaves behind her best friend and partner of thirteen years, Lesly Walser. In addition to Lesly, Sabrina is survived by her son Seth Barker, and his wife, Christy; her parents; her sister Kim Drye, brother-in-law James, and nephew Brandon; her sister Denise Easter, brother-in-law Mark, and two nieces, Karlee and Kenzee; her brother Derrick Barker and niece Jessica; and her brother Chad Viars, nieces Kaitlyn and Breana, and nephew Justin. A visitation to pay respects to the family was held Thursday June 5, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Following the visitation, a celebration of Sabrina’s life was held at Little Richard’s BBQ, located at 4885 Country Club Road, on Sunday, June 8.
