Jessie Andrew Mewborn

Jessie Andrew “Andy” Mewborn, 71, of Clemmons, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Born in Walstonburg, NC to Levi Andrew and Ada Mewborn. He lived most of his life in Farmville and Clemmons, NC. Andy was a passionate man who enjoyed gardening and fishing in his retirement years. Andy was loved and proud of his daughter, Phyllis Mewborn Welch, of Asheville, North Carolina and husband Scott Welch, and their daughters Morgan Welch Alexander and husband Brian Alexander and McKenzie Welch. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Akel of Jacksonville, Fl, Judy Mewborn of Raleigh, NC and Ollie Keiter and husband Barry Keiter of Greenville, NC, and brother Larry Mewborn of Raleigh, NC; as well as other loving aunt, nieces, nephews and other friends. Services were held at the Church Street Chapel of the Farmville Funeral Home Tuesday, June 24. Interment followed in Hollywood Cemetery in Farmville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Andy Mewborns name to Hospice & Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
