Mrs. Helen Sink Bowen of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Regency Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 14, 1929 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Sidney L. Sink and Winnie Burke Sink. Mrs. Bowen was a life-long member of Friedberg Moravian Church and was retired from Hanes Hoisery and Sara Lee with 47 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed years with B&H Beauty Supplies. She attended Griffith High School, and in later years attended Forsyth Technical Community College. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Clarence F. Bowen; three brothers, George, Lee, and Ransom; four sisters, Hazel Dorsett, Ethel Myers, Josephine Bowen, and Mary Spradlin. Survivors include one sister, Ruth Cooper; brother, Clay Sink and sister-in-law, Rachel Sink; and many special nieces and nephews. A graveside service was conducted Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. and the Rev. Dan Nelson officiating.
