Sadie Ferguson Whittington 

Dec. 29, 1925-August 15, 2014 

Mrs. Sadie Ferguson Whittington, age 88, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 15, 2014. Mrs. Whittington was born December 29, 1925 in Tazewell County, VA to John B. and Basmath Oma Ferguson. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church, a retired employee of Sam’s Club and a talented seamstress who dearly loved her family and friends. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Roy E. Whittington, children: Jan (Allen) Whitfield. Debby (Clifton) Bernard and Tim (Robin) Whittington, precious grandchildren: Angela Miles, Jeff Whitfield, Melody Bramlet, Kristi Sistar, Hannah, Clay and Sterling Whittington, and great grandchildren: Preston, Haley, Will, Elizabeth, Ethan and Caleb. Funeral services were held Monday at West Side Baptist Church by Rev. Robert Dixon. Burial followed at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family wants to extend special thanks to the Palliative Care Staff at Forsyth Medical Center and to her special caregiver, Kelsey Gregory.
