Mrs. Phisa Lee Tesh Joyce, 76, died on Monday, December 18, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. Phisa was born in Forsyth County on July 25, 1941, to Joseph Edward and Agnes Johnson Tesh. She attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, gardening, traveling, and baking. Her sons remember their mother as a driving force that always encouraged them to be their best, and she took great pride in raising three Eagle Scouts. She adored her grandchildren and they lovingly remember baking on holidays and creating annual entries for the Dixie Classic Fair. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Ronald Joyce; three sons, Richard Joyce (Rachel); Robert Joyce (Susan); Gregory Joyce (Karin); grandchildren, Hannah Joyce Holcomb (Jordan), Catherine Joyce, Brooke Joyce, Montana Joyce, Luke Joyce, and Madison Joyce; aunt and uncle, Ann and Jim Johnson; niece, Vicki West; and sister-in-law, Martha Harden. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Lewisville Baptist Church with Dr. George Smith and Dr. Bill Messer officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to special friends, Shirley and Lee Matthews and their son Zach for all of their love and support during this difficult time. The family also wishes to express gratitude for the kindness and care Mrs. Joyce received from the staff at Trinity Elms.
