Janice “Jan” Barger Stanford, 70, of Clemmons, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, January 27, 2018. She was born July 19, 1947 in Forsyth County to Norma Brooks Barger and Lewis H. Barger. Jan was such a joy to all who knew her. She was a loving, compassionate, selfless, godly wife, mom, mimi, sister-in-law and friend. Though she struggled with pulmonary hypertension, she always shined the light of Christ. Jan faithfully sang in the choir at Center Grove Baptist Church and served there until her health started to decline. Her life was a living testimony of the goodness of God. She fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Surviving are her husband, Mike Stanford; a daughter, Dawn Warren (Darren) and two wonderful grandsons whom she adored, Bret and Coby Warren. Also surviving are Jan’s mother, Norma Brooks Barger and two brothers, Mike and Mitch Barger. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Steve Corts officiating. There is no stated visitation. Memorials may be made to the International Commission, 260 Continental Dr., Lewisville, TX 75067. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel)
