John Carroll Collins

Mr. John Carroll Collins, 90, of Clemmons, passed away Sunday, June 17. He was born January 4, 1928, in Stokes County to Lola Stone Collins and Wesley Ernest Collins. John was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was an active member of the Clemmons community for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Cook Collins. Surviving are his two sons, John Collins, Jr. and wife Jo of Madison, AL and Mark Collins and wife Kim of Dunwoody, GA; three grandchildren, Douglas Collins and wife Ginny of Winterville, N.C., Rachel Collins of Waterford, MI, and Lauren Collins of Dunwoody, GA and two brothers, Wes Collins and wife Gail of Lenoir, NC and Jim Collins of Francisco, N.C. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, at Clemmons United Methodist Church with Rev. John Rights officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Francisco Presbyterian Church in Westfield, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Jack Eugene Hauser

Jack Eugene Hauser, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. Jack was born on October 7, 1927, in Forsyth County to Olie Charles Hauser and Ruth Jarvis Hauser. He served in the United States Army in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. Jack retired from Piedmont Natural Gas as an Operations Manager. In 1953, he married his loving wife Thomasene Davis Hauser (who passed away on March 27, 2016). He was a lifelong member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church and was a member of the church band since 1939. He was also a member of the Piedmont Region Model A Club and West Bend Masonic Lodge No. 434 where he received his fifty year pin in May 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Jack is survived by his brother, Jarvis Monroe Hauser and wife Johnnie; brother-in-law, Bill Davis and wife Marilyn; sister-in-law, Polly Davis Smith; nieces and nephews, Lee Hauser, Jane Shore, Ed Hauser, Susan Tucker, Mark Davis, Tom Davis and Patti Leath; and several great-nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank Karen Laney, caregiver, for the care of Thomasene and Jack. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 19, at New Philadelphia Moravian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Worth Green and the Rev. Joe Moore officiating. Burial followed the service in the church graveyard. The family received friends in the church fellowship hall following the burial.
