Battle of Shallow Ford DAR to meet
The Battle of Shallow Ford Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Monday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Visitors’ Center of Bethabara Park. There will be the presentation of colors by the JROTC from Forbush High School. The program for the evening is on the 100th Anniversary of the American Women’s Suffrage Movement by Dr. Bill Partin. Ladies interested in learning more about DAR are invited to attend.
Trunk or Treat at Holy Family Catholic Church
Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons on Kinnamon Road will host Trunk or Treat again this year on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4-5:30 p.m. Car decoration begins at 3:30 p.m. Lots of activities for kids will be available, including lots of games to play, a large bounce house and the renowned Tunnel of Terror. Prizes will be awarded for best decorated car and best costume. If you’re not into candy, free hotdogs and drinks while be available while supplies last. Come decorate your car and be prepared to give candy to our little boos and ghouls. Maybe one of the coveted prizes will be yours!
Home protection presentation
A program on protecting your home, neighborhood and community will be presented by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9-11 a.m. at the Clemmons Civic Club, 2870 Middlebrook Drive. The program is designed for home owners, small business owners, home owners associations, and existing or future Neighborhood Watch groups. Refreshments will be served.
Lewisville Craft Club to meet
The Lewisville Craft Club will meet Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library.

Fall bazaar and yard sale
Clemmons United Methodist Church will be having a fall bazaar and churchwide yard sale on Friday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clemmons Presbyterian hosting afternoon Grief Share program
Clemmons Presbyterian Church is hosting a Grief Share series on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the church parlor, from Sept. 9 to Dec. 9. Grief Share is a Biblical, Christ-centered teaching on grief topics associated with the loss of a loved one. This is a 13-week program, but each session is standalone — interested parties will benefit from each meeting even if unable to attend all of the sessions. The meeting consists of a video, discussion and a personal workbook. This is a warm, caring environment and one that you may come to see as an oasis on the long journey through your grief. Confidentiality is an utmost concern. These groups are encouraging and supportive. No registration is necessary. The workbooks are $15. Child care is available. GriefShare program at Clemmons UMC
Clemmons United Methodist Church will have a series of GriefShare, a grief support group every Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Ministry Center. West Forsyth Class of 1983 reunion
The West Forsyth Class of 1983 is holding a reunion on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Village Square Tap House starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person prior to Sept. 30 and $25 per person after. Lewisville Recycle Committee meeting date change
The Lewisville Recycling Committee has changed its regular meeting date from Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. to Monday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. The regular agenda will be followed.

Clemmons Civic Club
Clemmons Civic Club, one of the areas oldest community organizations, is now open to both men and women interested in serving the Clemmons community. Meeting are held in the civic club building on Middlebrook Drive the fourth Thursday of the month beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by an informative program. Lewisville American Legion Post 522
Join a community post that supports our veterans and the town of Lewisville. Responsible for the veteran’s memorial and Memorial Day event at the Shallowford Square in Lewisville.
