Raymond Gene Boggs

Mr. Raymond Gene Boggs, 88, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County on Oct. 11, 1930. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lindsay F. Brewer and Shelia Boggs Brewer. He graduated from Hanes High School and attended Western Carolina University. Mr. Boggs proudly served his country during the Korean War. Upon returning, he worked for Piedmont Airlines and U.S. Airways for 30 years.  Survivors include his wife, Margaret Reich Boggs; daughter, Rebecca Boggs LaRocco (Dominic); daughter, Andrea Lynn Boggs; son, Steven Ray Boggs; five grandchildren, Daniel Bohland, Nicholas DuBouget, Austin Church, Cerrie Lisser, and Andrew Boggs; one great-grandchild, Rain Bohland; two step-daughters, Melinda Essic and Kimberly Tetzlaff (Douglas); also surviving are two step-grandchildren, Michael Essic and Amanda Tetzlaff. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Rev. Glenda Bennett and Rev. Edwin Needham officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, N.C., 27103. The family would like to thank the staff at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for all the care and support that was given to Mr. Boggs and his family.

Lisa Denise Burnette

Ms. Lisa Denise Burnette, 47, of Clemmons, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at her residence. She was born on May 7, 1972, in Forsyth County to Jerry Burnette, Sr. and Patricia Simmons Burnette. Ms. Burnette loved all animals, especially cats and was a good-natured person. She enjoyed writing poetry. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Burnette and sister, Debbie Burnette. Surviving are her father, Jerry Burnette, Sr. and one brother, Jerry Burnette, Jr. A funeral service was conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Doug Klein officiating. The family received friends from 3-4:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, N.C., 27104.

Jerry Milton Vaughn

Mr. Jerry Milton Vaughn, 77, of Advance, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019. He was born Feb. 28, 1942, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Bishop Russell Vaughn and Mary Frances Wirtz Vaughn. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pat Williard Vaughn; one son, Jeff Vaughn (Lisa) of Farmington; one daughter; Jennifer Cecile (Scott) of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Daniel and Jake Vaughn and Luke and Logan Cecile; four brothers, Harold Vaughn (Nancy), Ronnie Vaughn (Cheryl), Donnie Vaughn (Jackie) and Mike Vaughn (Kathy); one sister, Brenda Stewart and a special brother-in-law, Bill York. A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel by Minister Gene Woolard. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or the Davie County Emergency Medical Services.
