Walter Lee Cope, Jr.

Mr. Walter Lee Cope, Jr., 94, of Clemmons, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at Brookstone of Clemmons. He was born May 16, 1925, in Davie County to Walter L. Cope Sr. and Hattie Rosetta Smith Cope. Mr. Cope was a member of Macedonia Moravian Church and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Royal Cake Company. He is preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters. Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Eunice S. Cope; two children, Darlene C. Phibbs of Advance and Janet Comer (James) of Clemmons; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Ray Burke officiating. The family received friends following the service. Donald Dale Milligan

Donald Dale Milligan, 77, of Clemmons, passed away on July 9, 2019, at his home. Don was born Jan. 19, 1942, in Davies County, Missouri, to Ralph and Esther (Babbitt) Milligan. Until his illness prevented doing so, Don attended Center Grove Baptist Church faithfully since 1989. Welcoming him home are his parents; a brother, Verl Milligan; sister, Wanda (Milligan) Wallace; his son, Kevin Milligan; and infant sons. Left to grieve his passing are his wife, Kathleen Milligan; daughters, Heather Milligan, Cheryl (Keith) Holder, and Brenda Whipple; as well as four grandsons, three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, David (Sherry) Milligan and Delbert (Pat) Milligan and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at noon on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Center Grove Baptist Student Center Chapel, 9035 Center Grove Church Road in Clemmons with Pastor Josh Hill officiating. The family received friends from 11 a.m. to noon at the church prior to the service. Interment followed the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, 6135 Ridgecrest Dr. in Clemmons. Bruce Albert Spaugh

Mr. Bruce Albert Spaugh, 91, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at his home. He was born in Forsyth County on May 4, 1928, to the late Walter and Pearl Conrad Spaugh. Mr. Spaugh was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. He was a retired dairy farmer who also enjoyed going to the mountains, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Sarah Mock Spaugh; son, David Spaugh (Jayne); daughter, Lisa Spaugh Pilcher (Reggie); five grandchildren, Adam Pilcher (Lauren), Jacob Spaugh (Brooke), Pearl Pilcher, Emily Blodinger (Jake), and Kalli Spaugh; two great-grandchildren, Allie Pilcher and Wyatt Spaugh; sister, Edna Wooten; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Sharon United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Freeman officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
