November is off to a great start for the Titans. Students and staff are wrapping up for the chilly weather when walking around campus, but West Forsyth academics and athletics are still flaming hot. Winter sports are holding tryouts while fall sports are finishing out their seasons. Last Friday, the varsity football team beat the Reagan Raiders, 31-21. On Friday, the Titans will take on Glenn High School at Glenn. The West Wackos will be showing just how much they love athletics with the theme Jersey Night.
The boys and girls cross country teams won the title of 4A midwest regional champions. Congratulations to the coaches and runners who made this win possible.
Today, Ferrum College will be visiting the Café Lobby during all lunches. Ferrum College is a private college located in the historic area of Ferrum, Virginia, with some buildings on campus being designated as historic landmarks. On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Winston-Salem State University will be visiting during all lunches. A constituent school of the University of North Carolina system, Winston-Salem State University is a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, all sophomores will be required to take the Pre-ACT test during morning block. Students taking this practice exam should bring No. 2 pencils, a calculator, and a picture ID.
Seniors can vote for senior superlatives using the link on West’s website. The superlatives range from most likely to become president to who has the worst case of senioritis. Voting will last until Nov. 26.
Remember, on Monday, Nov. 11, school will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. Go Titans!
