The VFW Post 9010, on Hampton Road in Clemmons, held a celebration for its 50th anniversary, on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

There was a buffet dinner for all the members. A report was read by J.K. Smith about the history of the post. Della Craver was introduced by auxiliary president Mary Marshall. She received an honor for being the longest member as chaplain since 1972. She received a red, white and blue bouquet of carnations and roses.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, there was a buffet dinner for all members and their families. The entertainment was provided by Letter From Home, a couple who sang old war songs about different branches of service. The entire room was decorated in gold and red, white and blue.

The post commander is Dolphur Troy. The N.C. junior vice commander runs the chambers and introduces all the programs. He received a certificate from the national headquarters.
