Charges upgraded from child abuse to murder

FORSYTH COUNTY — Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office upgraded charges from felony child abuse to first-degree murder after an infant died from its injuries.
A man was charged with felony child abuse after seeking medical treatment for his infant son on Monday, Jan. 13. The child died as a result of his injuries on Thursday, Jan. 16 and the charges were subsequently upgraded to first-degree murder.
Brandon Scott McDaniel, 20, of Clemmons, is currently being held in the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center without bond.
