I-40 closure
The contractor for the I-40 project at the Davie-Forsyth County Line is scheduled to close both directions of I-40 between N.C. 801 (Exit 180) and Harper Road (Exit 182) during the overnight hours of Friday, July 10, into Saturday, July 11. On Friday, the contractor will begin installing lane closures on I-40 at 6 p.m. and a full road closure of I-40 will be installed beginning at 11 p.m. Detours will be utilized for this road closure with all I-40 westbound traffic exiting at N.C. 801 (Exit 180) and all I-40 eastbound traffic exiting at Harper Road (Exit 182). Detoured traffic will use N.C. 801, U.S. 158, and Harper Road. All lanes of I-40 are expected to be reopened to traffic by 7 a.m. on Saturday. This closure is required for the contractor to safely set the new pedestrian bridge over I-40. As always, this work is weather dependent and may be subject to change.
Road closure
Glengarriff Road is closed between Kildare Street and Curraghmore Road for a two-week time period to complete storm drain pipe repairs. Accessibility to that section of road will be only for local homeowners and EMS.
