COVID-19 daily briefing — Jan. 4

There are 160 new cases and six deaths reported today. Over the weekend, there were 565 new cases and four deaths reported on Saturday, and 159 new cases reported on Sunday. There have been 21,527 laboratory-confirmed cases and 231 deaths in Forsyth County. All cases reported by the Forsyth County Department of Public Health are Forsyth County residents. The case count is subject to change throughout the day but will only be reported once per day in the daily briefing.

The public health director will provide a detailed briefing at 2 p.m. at the beginning of the Jan. 7 board of county commissioners meeting, which will be conducted remotely. The public can listen to and watch the meeting on WSTV-13 or go to https://www.cityofws.org/493/WSTV-13

• Tuesdays at Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, Gate 9, 421 27th St. NW, from noon to 3 p.m.

• Thursdays at EMS Triangle Station, 3260 Kernersville Road, from noon to 3 p.m.

• Saturdays at Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, Gate 9, 421 27th St. NW, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
