Alex Padilla-Maya named Clemmons Rotary Student of the Month

Alex Padilla-Maya was recognized on Jan. 20 as the Rotary Club of Clemmons’ Student of the Month for January 2021.
Padilla-Maya is an excellent student is ranked in the top half of his class.
West Forsyth High School in nominating Padilla-Maya had the following to say about him:
From staff member Sherry Billings: “I have worked with Alex several times over the last two years regarding volunteer and service opportunities as well as securing part time jobs. He has always shown a lot of initiative and, he is a true leader with great work ethic in her classroom. Alex works hard to maintain a positive academic standing in his classes while working part-time and serving in a variety of volunteer opportunities.”
Padilla-Maya’s volunteer activities include Forsyth Humane Society (2-3 hours a week), and a local church 2-3 hours a week.
While not in school or volunteering, Padilla-Maya works as a part-time cashier 10-12 hours a week at a local business.
Padilla-Maya’s non-school activities and leisure time are spent weight training at the YMCA and taking care of his brother while his parents are at work.
Padilla-Maya plans to enroll at Forsyth Tech/Community College in the fall.
The Rotary Club of Clemmons congratulates Padilla-Maya for his accomplishments and contributions to his school and community.
