This week comes with good news for those optimistic to return to in-person classes. On Monday, the freshmen of West Forsyth started with the safe return plan. Separated into four cohorts, each student will be attending in-person schooling twice every other week. Cohort one will attend West in the first week of the cycle on Monday and Tuesday, cohort two will go on Thursdays and Fridays, cohorts three and four will repeat that same pattern the following week. Wednesdays will be our new “asynchronous” days to allow the school to be sanitized.
This will be the first real return to normalcy for the average West student. The only students that have even been on campus were seniors on senior day, those that had to take exams in person and athletes.
Speaking of athletics, a few of West’s teams have started their season. The boys soccer and lacrosse teams have both started their seasons 0-2, the girls lacrosse team is 1-0.
