The North Carolina Press Association announced on Friday that Andy Mooney of the Clemmons Courier won second place in the appearance and design category in the 2020 press awards contest. Two consecutive editions were required for entry, and the winning entries were published on Sept. 3 and 10, 2020.

The Courier competed in Community Division A, which includes 24 newspapers, such as the Avery Journal Times, Cherokee Scout, Mebane Enterprise, North State Journal and The Smoky Mountain Times.
