CLEMMONS — The contractor for the project to improve Interstate 40 at the Davie/Forsyth county line plans to close a ramp onto the highway this weekend.
The ramp from Harper Road onto I-40 East is set to be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting. The closure will enable crews to apply a fresh asphalt surface on the ramp.
Drivers needing to access I-40 East from Harper Road will be detoured down U.S. 158 to the N.C. 801 interchange to turn around.
This work is part of the ongoing project to widen and improve 3 miles of I-40 and replace the bridges over the Yadkin River.
