Titans are getting back into the swing of things with the fourth week of school coming to an end. With fall approaching through the breezeway, classes, clubs and sports have all resumed. Lets see what West has been up to.
Club rush made a comeback on Friday. It was a huge success with many students in attendance. West has a very diverse range of clubs, including but not limited to, Girls Who Code, Technology and Robotics Club, and Pre-Med Club. Many service clubs also came to recruit students, one being the Girls Service Club.
“Girls Service Club is a great organization in which you get to interact and bond with your peers, while also serving the community,” senior Lindsey Armstrong said.
Some important scholarship deadlines are coming up throughout this month. The fastest approaching being the “I want to be considered” form that will be turned into student services. A few include Bryan Scholars Scholarship, Morehead Cain Scholarship, and the Centennial Scholarship. For further information on these scholarships and their descriptions, visit the Titan Scholarship Newsletter on the West Forsyth website’s homepage, under student services.
The Titan football team will take on Mt. Tabor for the second home game of the year. The game will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, tickets are $5 for students and $7 for others. With the theme being toga, students will be pulling up in their best sheets. Make sure to come out and cheer loud for West.
Something new to campus this school year are some of Principal Kevin Spainhour’s policies. The new cellphone policy and random COVID-19 testing for anyone signed up for the “It’s My Call, It’s Your Call” program, are two of the biggest changes for the Titans. Check out Spainhour’s reasoning and a more in-depth description on The Zephyr (the school newspaper) https://wfhszephyr.com/.
Another new addition is me, your new Titan Tattler. I’m Parker Ramey, a senior on the school newspaper staff. I’ve been on The Zephyr since my sophomore year writing for features and opinion, and this year I’m thrilled to be the co-editor-in-chief. I’m honored to be the Titan Tattler this year and can’t wait to keep you in the loop.
Parker Ramey is this year’s Titan Tattler.
