The Shallow Ford Foundation is sponsoring an outdoor music event at the Shallowford Square in Lewisville in celebration of community from 5:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9. The featured band is NOTA (None of the Above), a five-member band that has been performing throughout the Triad for more than 25 years. In performing together for so many years, they have developed a unique sound that includes elements and material from a variety of styles including bluegrass, Americana, alternative country, folk, rock and their own original material. NOTA’s musical style maintains traditional roots while drawing on each member’s interpretation and contribution to arrangements. Ultimately, this produces a sound that gives meaning to their name: None of the Above. NOTA members are: Tim Sands — vocals and guitar; Jon Cornatzer — vocals and banjo/guitar; Lee Cecil — dobro; Jason Bodenhamer — vocals and mandolin and Tim Harrison — vocals and bass.
“It’s been a challenging year for everyone and we wanted to offer an opportunity for families to come together in joyful celebration of what it means to live in a caring and neighborly community,” said Maria P. Vernon, Lewisville resident and former foundation board chair. Information and updates about the Shallow Ford Foundation and its work will be available at the event.
Attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic or purchase food and beverage from the food trucks available. Abbott’s Frozen Custard truck will also be onsite. For more information, contact the Shallow Ford Foundation at 336-663-6794.
