The Titans are gearing up for the end of the first quarter. Since Friday is the last day of this quarter, students are trying to bump up their grades and turn in all their work. Following this stressful week, Monday will be a teacher professional day and an off day for students. Let’s see how the Titans are doing.
“This year has already flown by, I’m so happy I get to be back at campus my senior year although it’s been a little stressful,” senior Caroline Moore said.
Even though junior year is said to be the most stressful, some are still having fun. “My junior year has been pretty overwhelming but I’ve been navigating it pretty well. It’s also been a lot of fun,” junior Grayson Taylor said.
Some Titans worth mentioning are seniors Tayler Scott and Caroline Dailey. Scott was nominated for the Cheatham-White Scholars program at North Carolina A&T State University, which is a fully-funded four-year scholarship. Dailey has been recognized as October Student of the Month. She will be honored by the Clemmons Rotary Club for her dedication to the West community, athletic achievements and extraordinary academics. Congratulations and good luck to both!
With a victory against Davie County last week, the Titans will be going into this Friday ready to start a winning streak. This week’s football game will be at RJ Reynolds starting at 7 p.m., and tickets will be $7. The student section will be filled with pink, with the student theme being pink out.
This week is a big week for West seniors. Today will be a common app application day for Countdown to College Month. This will include free college applications, and help to navigate the Common App website. Counselors will be assisting seniors with the application process in the media center, visiting the student services website to register and more information. Good luck to all the seniors with some of their college application deadlines coming up and as always, go Titans!
