Lewisville sweeps meet against Clemmons, Wiley

The boys and girls track teams from Lewisville Middle School were both victorious in a tri-meet against Clemmons and Wiley held Wednesday at West Forsyth.
The boys team, fueled by two individual wins each from Cameron Simmons (100, 200) and Yair Alonzo-Arevalo (800, 1600), finished with 47 points. Clemmons was second with 26.
The girls team won with 40 points to edge Wiley, which finished with 32. Clemmons finished with 18.
Individual event winners from Lewisville were Elly Randolph (100), Hope Newsome (400), Sophia Wyshner (800) and Clara Strickland (200).
Laila Jones of Clemmons set a new personal best in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, 2 inches.
