Why yes, that's former West Forsyth Athletics Director T.R. Richards popping in with his wife, Gaye Weatherman, to enjoy their pancakes last Saturday morning.

They filled a variety of roles, from assisting with clean-up, to manning the drink and silverware stations, and even standing on the corner of Lewisville-Clemmons Road with signs to attract customers.

There was a fairly steady stream of customers that came through the door from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. last Saturday at the Clemmons Civic Club for the organization’s first pancake breakfast in two years.
Patrons young and young at heart gathered for their pick of regular, blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes and a healthy helping of sausage patties, grits, fresh strawberries and cooked apples to go along with coffee, water and orange juice.
Members of the West Forsyth Key Club were also on hand to volunteer in a variety of roles.
All proceeds from the event benefited two scholarships for area high school students.
