McEachran dominates CPC singles for third straight year

Junior Samantha McEachran captured her third straight Central Piedmont 4A singles tennis title at last week’s conference tournament.

McEachran has yet to lose a singles match in conference play since her career began at West as a freshman.

 

Titans place four on all-conference golf team

Four West Forsyth girls golfers earned their way onto the Central Piedmont 4-A all-conference team based on their season-long play in league matches.

Mary-Paige King, who was crowned conference champion last week, led the way with a nine-hole stroke average of 35. Paige Sidney (38) Sadie Mecham (40) and Katherine Perdue (46) also made the team.

Celebrating field hockey, volleyball seniors

The West Forsyth varsity field hockey and volleyball teams closed out their regular seasons last week by recognizing the seniors on both teams.

Seniors Kennedy Weber, Maddie Keene, Aaralyn Russell, Kayla Kozak and Emily Richards were recognized in a pre-match ceremony last Thursday against East Forsyth by volleyball coach Lauren Gillon and her coaching staff.
The volleyball team closed the regular season with a 16-8 overall record (9-5, third place in the conference) and began play Monday in the Central Piedmont 4A Conference tournament. The NCHSAA state tournament will begin next week.

The field hockey team closed out its regular season by beating Northwest Guilford 3-1 and finished the regular season 7-8.

Coaches Ann Marie Westmoreland and Abby McAninch recognized seniors Maggie Cass, Evie Stanbury, Grayson Taylor, Morgan McDaniel, Kate Ohm, Brianna Ward, Yasmine Paige and Rachel Hull.
