CLEMMONS — The ROCC Winston-Salem Rescue Mission 5K saw a massive turnout on Saturday as hundreds gathered to participate in the annual event. Westbound traffic on Lewisville-Clemmons Road was reduced to one lane to make way for the runners. The Winston-Salem Rescue Mission has been around for more than a half-century, providing life-changing services for homeless and needy individuals living in the community. Wil Zahorodny paced the field with a time of 16:16. Finishing second was Grant Childress at 17:04. About a half minute later, Charlies Jones crossed the finish line to complete the top three. His time was 17:36. Katie Efird finished as the top female performer with a time of 20:36. Charlotte Miller was the second best female finisher with a time of 21:16. With a time of 21:34, Maddie Wild rounded out the top-three females.
