Just two months after breaking nine national Olympic records at the U.S. Nationals, USA Olympic weightlifter Pastor Jim Randall of Lewisville N.C. brought home a gold medal for the United States Team at the Pan American Masters Games.
The May competition, held in Orlando, Florida, saw Randall once again “white-light” his way through the competition, setting 6 new Olympic Weightlifting Records previously set by Jim in March.
“I pushed Jim a little harder this time, and he did an amazing job,” said Olympic Coach Rob Arroyo. “Anything he sets his mind to, he just does.”
The win propels Randall to the international stage.
“With this win, Jim will receive an automatic bid from the Olympic Committee to compete at the World Games in Poland this year,” Arroyo said.
Randall remains modest about his accomplishments, giving credit to the Lord for his good fortune and strength.
When asked about his next event, Randall said, “As long as the good Lord keeps me vertical I’ll continue to compete.”
