With nearly the first four weeks of the school year now under our belts, the Titans are throwing themselves headfirst into busy schedules of academics, extracurriculars and more.

West’s sports teams have been on a roll this past week, with the varsity football team taking an upset win over their first conference opponent, Mount Tabor, at home by a final score of 40-14 on Sept. 15. They take on Parkland on the road on Friday, Sept. 22. It’s Jersey Night, so come out and bring your support and school spirit on the road.

After falling to Davie 3-1 on the road on Sept. 12, the girls varsity volleyball team bounced back to take down Northwest Guilford 3-2 at home on Sept. 13 and R.J. Reynolds 3-0 on the road on Sept. 14. The girls also faced East Forsyth at home on Tuesday and are prepared for their road matchup against Mount Tabor tonight.

The boys varsity soccer team continued their winning ways this past week, with victories over Parkland 9-1 on the road on Sept. 11, Glenn 6-3 at home on Sept. 13 and Ledford 1-0 at home on Sept. 14. They faced Reagan at home on Monday and Davie on the road on Wednesday, and will take on R.J. Reynolds on the road next on Sept. 25.

The first homecoming dance in about 20 years is fast approaching. All students who registered, make sure to buy your tickets by the end of the day Friday if you’d still like to attend.

The PSAT will be held at West Forsyth for all freshmen, sophomores and juniors who registered on Oct. 4. Juniors are eligible to earn awards and scholarships for high PSAT scores, so make sure to put your best foot forward. West will also be a testing site for the Oct. 7 SAT for all who registered.

West’s literary magazine, The Nine Muses, for the 2022-23 school year, was just released this past week. There’s a link to the magazine on the West Forsyth homepage for all who are interested. Go check out all the great artwork and writing done by last year’s students.

Seniors, make sure to schedule college meetings with your counselors sometime over the next couple of weeks to get all the documents and help that you need. Reminder: the first early action and early decision deadlines are Oct. 15.

Congrats on another great week, Titans.
