Rotary Club of Western Forsyth roasts NASCAR King Richard Petty to benefit the Petty Family Foundation, local non-profits

The Rotary Club of Western Forsyth held The Richard Petty Comedy Roast last month at the Benton Convention Center to raise money for the Petty Family Foundation and other local non-profits.
The event raised $59,600 for the Petty Family Foundation and those other charities.
The evening started with a video entitled “Simply the Best” which highlighted the fact that Richard Petty won a record-breaking 200 races, and during the course of his career, he was in movies, sang and released musical records, met five presidents and was a successful product endorser and family man.
NASCAR personalities Winston Kelley, Darrel Waltrip, Michael Waltrip, Donnie Allison, Dale Inman, Kyle Petty along with comedians Ricky Mokel, Dale Jones and Ritch Shydner with Phil Ford, Marilyn Green and Cindy Farmer all roasted the King of NASCAR Richard Petty.
Fox 8 shared a video of interviews with Petty’s family about what it was like growing up with him. The event was presented by Sessions Specialty Company and Lewis and Keller Attorneys.
The culmination of the event was Atticus Simpson of Truliant Federal Credit Union presenting Petty and his daughter Rebecca Moffit, the president of the Petty Family Foundation, a Lifetime Achievement Award and Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award.
