CLEMMONS — With the first quarter of the 2023-24 school coming to a close, there is much to recognize and celebrate.
That includes the successes of fall athletics, many of which are deep in or just about to start conference and state playoffs.
After the game was pushed up a day due to weather, the varsity football game secured a big win over R.J. Reynolds at home 54-14 on Oct. 19.
The Titans host East Forsyth Friday for their last regular season game. The stakes couldn’t be higher since the winner of the game will also clinch the Central Piedmont 4A Conference Championship.
Come out and cheer them on in this huge matchup.
The boys varsity soccer team clinched their conference championship last week, the final team in the conference to remain undefeated. They faced their final two regular-season opponents, R.J. Reynolds at home on Oct. 23 and East Forsyth on the road on Oct. 25.
The girls varsity volleyball team took a huge win over East Forsyth at home 3-0 in the first round of the state playoffs over the weekend. They visited Marvin Ridge for the next round on Oct. 24.
The upperclassman girls had a blast competing in the annual Powderpuff game last week on Oct. 17. The juniors won after a hard-fought game. The event raised money for the Clemmons Food Pantry. Way to go, Titans.
The Girls Service Club hosted one of their annual blood drives last week on Oct. 18. The drive is always a huge success, and this year was no different, with many students, teachers and staff members coming out to give blood and volunteer at the event. Thank you to everyone involved for helping to save many lives.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting a big Halloween event Friday to celebrate the upcoming holiday and the end of the first quarter. The Titan Trunk or Treat will start setting up around 4:30 p.m. and finish around 6:30 p.m. All clubs have been invited to decorate a car trunk and hand out candy to promote their club and help foster the Titan community. Come by and have some fun with your classmates and friends.
Congratulations on a great first quarter, Titans. Enjoy your long weekend, and come back ready to keep taking on the school year the West Forsyth way.
