LEWISVILLE — A Lewisville road will be subject to closure later this week, according to an official with the town.
Beginning on Friday, Dec. 15 at 10 p.m., a portion of Williams Road will be closed in both directions due to construction. The closure will be in effect until Saturday, Dec. 16, at 10 p.m.
The stretch of Williams Road that will be impacted is from the Food Lion grocery store to the U.S. Highway 421 ramps. The closure is expected
to last for 24 hours, weather permitting.
According to information from Town Manager James Ayers, the portion of Williams Road will remain closed to all traffic during the construction period.
A detour will redirect Williams Road traffic around the construction zone.
Northbound 421 traffic will use the Shallowford Road exit back to the Shallowford/Williams roundabout. Southbound 421 traffic is advised to use the Williams Road exit to Hauser Road, and back to Shallowford Road.
Lewisville town officials have been in contact with the contractor, Branch Civil, throughout this process and the detour has been reviewed by the NCDOT.
Anyone with questions about this detour can contact Superintendent Lupe Carbajal with Branch Civil at 336-469-2239.
“We ask motorists to use caution and reduce speed when approaching the construction zone and traveling the detour route,” a Lewisville release said.
