WINSTON-SALEM — United Way of Forsyth County has named Jennifer Gipp chief development officer. Gipp’s primary responsibility will be to lead the development and implementation of integrated fundraising, marketing, event and volunteer strategies that will ensure United Way’s capacity to increase revenue and support its mission and strategic plan.

Gipp has worked at United Way Worldwide — the world’s largest privately funded nonprofit — since 2014, most recently serving as director of Tocqueville and Major Gifts. At United Way Worldwide, she is focused on network performance and enablement, providing coaching and consultation to the networks more than 1,100 global United Way affiliates with strategies, vision, and resources to ensure a solid framework for growth and sustainability.

“We are ecstatic that Jennifer is bringing her extensive fundraising experience and strong track record of success to our organization,” United Way of Forsyth County President and CEO Dr. Antonia Monk Richburg said. “As chief development officer, she will spearhead the growth of United Way’s revenue through the effective engagement of donors, corporations, foundations and volunteers as well as staff and board members.

“As the CEO, I am excited to collaborate closely with Jennifer as we advance United Way’s mission in Forsyth County,” Richburg expressed. “I have every confidence that she will hit the ground running and swiftly become an invaluable asset to our community.”

A career United Way fundraising professional, Gipp has worked in local communities including: Greater Atlanta, where she served as senior director of county campaigns; and Greater Greensboro, where she was director of major gifts and was hand selected to participate in the development of a performance based, donor-centric culture to increase internal department collaboration and communication. Gipp received her B.A. degree in English from Kent State University.

“At United Way Worldwide, I helped our team to focus on network performance and enablement, including providing coaching and consultation to ensure a solid framework for growth and sustainability,” Gipp said. “Similarly, while at United Way of Greater Atlanta, I managed a dynamic fundraising team throughout a 12-county footprint and was responsible for generating $9.5 million in annual revenue.

“Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to experience successive learnings and experiences — locally and globally — and look forward to expanding my work in Forsyth County,” she added. “I am particularly thrilled to be returning to my professional roots in the Piedmont Triad.”

Gipp will assume her new role at United Way of Forsyth County in mid-May and will report directly to United Way of Forsyth County President and CEO Antonia Monk Richburg.
