Carolina Classic Fair to feature variety of promotional days

WINSTON-SALEM — The Carolina Classic Fair, which will take place Oct. 4-13 in Winston-Salem, will feature a variety of promotional days and special discounts. The Carolina Classic Fair will present fireworks each night at 9:45 p.m., presented by Bunce Buildings

Featured entertainment this year:

  • Oct. 7 — Monster Truck Monday
  • Oct. 8 — Wolf Night with Dillon Scott featuring Presley Barker
  • Oct. 9 — WBFJ Night with Colton Dixon, ft Austin French and Jeremy Rosado,
  • Oct. 10 — Inaugural Hot Dog Eating Contest presented by Nicks Old Fashioned Hamburgers
  • Pirates of Columbian Caribbean all 10 days

Opening Day, Oct. 4, is 107.$5, sponsored by 107.5 WKZL radio, at the Carolina Classic Fair. Opening Day will include $5 gate admission all day and free rides for 107 minutes beginning at 3 p.m. and ending promptly at 4:47 p.m.

Oct. 7 is School Day presented by Deer Park Spring Water and powered by iHeartMedia. Gate admission is free to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools students and faculty on School Day. In addition, on Oct. 7, admission will be free to everyone who brings three school supplies, which will be given to the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools to distribute to students.

The day also will feature performances by local students, free carousel rides until 2 p.m., and demonstrations by County 4H Extensions. There will also be a ride special on Oct. 7 featuring 10 rides for $20.

New for this year: Monday, Oct. 7, also is Monster Truck Day. Gates will open at 9 a.m. for school field trips

Two Dollar Tuesday and Senior Day will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The day will feature $2 admission, with rides for $2 each, and a wide range of food specials, many offered for $2 each. Senior facilities groups and their aids receive free admission. Gates will open at 11 a.m.

Oct. 9 is Special Education Day and Canned Food Day, benefiting Crisis Control Ministry and presented by Honda Sea-Doo Can-Am of Winston-Salem and Pinnacle Financial. Guests will receive free gate admission by bringing five nonperishable food items that will be donated to Crisis Control Ministry. Gates will open at 11 a.m.

Oct. 10 will be a blockbuster promotional day at the Carolina Classic Fair and includes Military Day, College Day, and Thirsty Thursday, sponsored by WXII, 107.5 WKZL and Rock 92. On Oct. 10, active and retired military and their immediate family members will receive free gate admission with ID and college students will receive $5 admission with appropriate ID. In addition, the day will feature a $60 anniversary share and save fun card promotion, which includes two fun cards containing a total of 120 ride credits, a savings of $40. The Busch Beer Garden will feature the inaugural CarolinaClassic Fair Hot Dog Eating Contest presented by Nick’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers of Lexington.

The Carolina Classic Fair concludes the work week on Oct. 11 with Pepsi Family Fun Day, powered by Audacy radio. The day will feature free gate admission for children 11 and under until 6 p.m. and $20 wristbands for kiddie rides from noon until 7 p.m. for children seven and under.

New gates times include opening at 11 a.m. (instead of 9 a.m.) for Senior Day on Oct. 8, as well as for Special Education Day on Oct. 9.

As has been the case in past years, gates open at 11 a.m. and midway rides open at noon on Monday, Oct. 7; Thursday, Oct. 10; Friday, Oct. 11 and both Sundays (Oct. 6 and 13).  Gates will open at 9 a.m. on both Saturdays (Oct. 5 and Oct. 12). The fair ends each day at 11 p.m.
