CLEMMONS — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has officially closed its investigation into the shooting that occurred on Sept. 4 at 6490 Stadium Dr. in Clemmons.

The investigation determined that Jimmie Carlton Radford, a 63-year-old white male from Winston-Salem, attempted to intervene in an argument between Johnny Lee Spencer, a 56-year-old white male from  Lexington, and another patron of Sherry’s A Private Club in the parking lot.

According to a release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, after the argument concluded, Spencer retrieved a firearm from his vehicle before seeking out and shooting Radford.

Radford then pulled out a firearm and shot back at Spencer in self defense. No charges will be sought for the incident due to both parties involved now being deceased.

Spencer reportedly died from his wounds at a local hospital shortly after the incident. Redford died on Sept. 8. No other individuals were involved in the altercation based on the investigation thus far.
