Time for a change
$1.8 million. That’s what our State Representative and developer Jeff Zenger took from Lewisville taxpayers because the town of Lewisville turned down his plan to build an apartment complex monstrosity in the center of our downtown adjacent to our town square.
What makes this payoff even more disgusting is that developer Zenger had served on the town’s planning board and the town council and knew that this was not the type of development that the residents of Lewisville wanted in the heart of downtown. Yet he threatened to sue our town, our elected officials and our residents if we didn’t pay up.
$1.8 million could have done a lot of good for our little town, but that didn’t matter to developer Zenger who has ignored the best interests of the residents of Lewisville during both of his terms in the legislature undermining the town’s authority to manage growth in favor of the interests of big developers and home builders.
One only needs to look at his campaign contributors to see who developer Zenger reports to. It’s not the residents of the town he represents.
After 4 years of damage to our town, and taking $1.8 million from our taxpayers, isn’t it time to send developer Zenger packing? Vote for Amy Taylor North who, unlike developer Zenger, will truly put the interests of Lewisville residents first.
