LEWISVILLE — A Lewisville firefighter has climbed up the ladder with a recent promotion.
“We are thrilled to announce the promotion of firefighter (Marty) Bowen to captain with the Lewisville Fire Department,” a recent post from the department said. “Captain Bowen has dedicated decades to the fire service, beginning his firefighting career in 1987 and joining Lewisville Fire Department full-time in 1999.”
The longtime firefighter holds an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering and fire protection technology, which according to the post, will bring “extensive knowledge and expertise to (the) department.”
Since 2003, he has also served as a sworn forestry warden for North Carolina Forestry District 10, working to protect the Tar Heel State’s natural resources. Additionally, he shares his passion for fire service as an adjunct instructor at both Surry Community College and Forsyth Technical Community College.
“Please join us in congratulating Captain Bowen on his well-deserved promotion and thanking him for his dedication and leadership,” the post said.
