Breana Samonte was recognized as the Rotary Club of Clemmons “Student of the Month” for October.
In nominating Samonte for Student of the Month, West Forsyth High School described Samonte as follows: “Breana is described as the “most polite and hardest working student in the class; had the only perfect grade on the first unit test out of all of her teacher’s economics classes. When she finishes all of her work for my class, she immediately begins studying for her other classes. She is an example of academic excellence.”
Samonte is an excellent student with a GPA of 4.4 and in the top 8 percent of her class and is a Crosby Scholar.
Her accomplishments are many.
As a member of the Key Club, she participated in “Creek Week” to help clean litter and debris, which gave her the opportunity to have a positive impact on the environment and our community. As a Crosby Scholar, she organized clothes for church events, annually she made scarves for veterans which gave her an opportunity to express he gratitude for their service in protecting our nation, and assisted the elderly at retirement homes.
Her math skills led her to learn how to “code,” which also has artistic elements as she enjoys designing the interfaces of computer applications.
After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year college or university and major in computer engineering or an equivalent. She’s considering N.C. State University and UNC-Charlotte as well as other schools.
The Rotary Club of Clemmons congratulates Samonte for her accomplishments and contributions to her school and community.
