Central Piedmont 4-A names fall all-conference teams

With just West Forsyth and East Forsyth still playing football, fall sports are just about complete.
All-conference winners in the Central Piedmont 4-A in eight fall sports were announced this past Sunday.
West Forsyth had successful fall sports seasons in almost each sport, but none had a better regular season than boys soccer, led by first-year Coach John Blake. West Forsyth finished the regular season 20-1-2 and 12-1-1 in the conference. In addition, Omar Brahim was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference and was among seven players on the team that made all-conference, the others being – Haegen Paschold, Abiel Lopez-Dominguez, Ethan Barghout, Josh Madel, Ryan Penaloza, and David Perez.
In addition, West Forsyth was the No. 1 seed in the West for the NCHSAA Class 4-A playoffs. It defeated No. 32 South Caldwell in the first round, but it was tripped up by Charlotte Catholic in the second round, finishing the season with a record of 21-2-2.
Alex Bhoutia of Mount Tabor was named the Offensive Player of the Year, and teammate Nick Parsons was also named to the team.
Reagan also had seven players on the boys soccer all-conference team – Lolo Bongweni, Franuel Alvarado, Rodrigo Almazan, Mason Scott, Holden Patterson, Moling Zhang, and Catcher Hardin. Also, Coach Marco Rebollar of Reagan was named Coach of the Year.
East Forsyth had four players – Blair Salinas, Kylen Bradley, MIracle Olubunmi, and Alexander Torres – make the team. Alex Kuhner and Lambert Kwibe of Reynolds, Cristian Parral and Mario Barclay or Parkland, and Jason Cruz Segura and Yahir Santamaria-Melo of Glenn made it.
The West Forsyth volleyball team also had a stellar season led by Coach Lauren Gillon. West Forsyth finished 27-9 overall and finished tied with Reagan in the Central Piedmont 4-A with a record of 13-1.
West Forsyth had five players – Aurora Rosa, Chloe Randell, Hayden Lichty, Anna Hege, and Ella Lamoureux – make all-conference.
Ellyson Randolph of Reagan was named Player of the Year and teammate Gabrielle Nicholls was named Defensive Player of the Year. In addition to Randolph and Nicholls, Brynna Boyer, Carly Edwards and Klaire Weiss made all-conference from Reagan.
Molly Muse, Laney Blevins and Payton Fendley of East Forsyth, Emma Willard and Carly Crouch of Davie County, Maddie Starkey of Mount Tabor, and Carolina Nascimento of Parkland made all-conference.
Daryl Evans of Parkland was named the volleyball Coach of the Year.
Football is still being played with this week’s second-round game in the NCHSAA Class 4-A playoffs between No. 14 West Forsyth at No. 3 East Forsyth on Friday night in Kernersville. So, West Forsyth, which is 8-3 overall and finished 5-2 in the Central Piedmont 4-A is well represented on the all-conference team.
Offensively, Riley Horton, CJ Blevins, PJ Dean, Jalen Morris, and AJ McCloud made it from West Forsyth. Defensively for West Forsyth, Daviel Eldridge, brother DaViare Eldridge, Justin Ferguson and Kale Vest made it.
East Forsyth, which won the conference and is now 11-0 before Friday’s game against West Forsyth, is also well represented. Quarterback Bryce Baker, who has committed to play at North Carolina, was named the Offensive Player of the Year, Brayden Cresimore was named the Kicker of the Year, and Todd Willert was named the Coach of the Year.
Offensively for East Forsyth, in addition to Baker and Cresimore, Xavier Crawford, Corey Blair, Steven Stevenson, JP Gilchrist, and Jaire Richburg made all-conference. Defensively for East Forsyth, Chris Kirby, Nathan Stewart, Jaylin Murry, Elijah Edwards, and Ke’Moir Pouncey made it.
Mount Tabor’s Jadon Blair, who has committed to play at Notre Dame, was named the Central Piedmont 4-A Defensive Player of the Year. Offensively for Mount Tabor, Lane Albright, Zion Thompson, John Coles, Les Phillips, Snook Peterkin, and Khamari Shell made all-conference. Other than Blair on defense for Mount Tabor, D’Ivory Puryear, Malik Garrison, Jayden Muhfooth, and Matthias Banks made it.
As for Reagan, Isaias Gonzalez, Jerry Summers and John Evans Jr. made offensive all-conference. On defense for Reagan, Leo Housel-Rajacich and Seven Glover made the team.
Davie County’s Maddox Creason was named Long Snapper of the Year. Also, for Davie County, Ryder Strickland and Ethan Driver made offensive all-conference, and Elijah Chaffin and Gavin Reese made defensive all-conference.
Mac Murphy of Reynolds made offensive all-conference, and teammates Jayden Willis, Joe Crowley and DeAndre Charles made defensive all-conference.
Bourhane Hamidou of Glenn made offensive all-conference, and teammates Tk’Lyn King, Isaiah Bufford and J’Zier Dixon made defensive all-conference.
Kiwion Covert of Parkland was named offensive all-conference, and teammate Scott Tre Walker was named defensive all-conference.
In girls golf, West Forsyth, led by Coach Debra Troxell, finished behind Reagan for the Central Piedmont 4-A championship. West Forsyth’s Sophia Perdue, Sadie Mecham, Kristina Tullos and Katherine Perdue made all-conference.
Reagan’s Ellie Acrey was named Player of the Year and Coach Jay Allred of Reagan was named Coach of the Year. In addition, for Reagan, Hillary Gong, Sonya Hu and Campbell Koll made all-conference.
Davie County’s Gwynyth Swan, Kori Bailey and Kate Sakai each made all-conference, as well as Addison Moser from Reynolds and Rebecca Ann Kvam of Mount Tabor.
In boys cross-country, led by Coach Nathan Newsome, Gunnar Douglass, Nicholas Winsor and Shane Cornett of West Forsyth were named all-conference.
Tate Shore of Reagan was named Boys Runner of the Year. Also, Coach Robyn McElwee of Reagan was named the Boys and Girls Coach of the Year. Also, for the Reagan boys, in addition to Shore, Jackson Farmer and Charlie Jones made all-conference.
Reynolds’ Cedar Nichols-Barnhart, Michael Bullock, Colin Ehrman, Clay Summers and Wade Williams made it. Mount Tabor’s Andrew Riley, Luke Mistor, Whit Longhurst and Charles Rankin made it. Thomas Essic and Ethan Lakey of Davie County and Ethan Xavi Sanchez of East Forsyth made it.
In girls cross-country, also coached by Newsome, West Forsyth’s Tatum Snow, Lily Baugh, LuLu Serang and Katie Malanowski made all-conference.
Rachel Riley of Mount Tabor was named Runner of the Year. Riley’s teammates, Addyson Jarrett and Norah Knight also made all-conference. Reagan’s Kate Henderson, Sarah Fassinger, Meghan Eidelman, Lily Hayes, Charlotte Henderson, Zoe Simmonds and Paige Askew made all-conference. Reynolds’ Emma McLawhorn, Isla Downard and Katie Beeler, and Lexi Marion of Dave County made it.
In girls tennis, West Forsyth didn’t have anybody make all-conference after finishing 3-10 overall, including 3-9 in the Central Piedmont 4-A.
Davie County, which finished undefeated in the conference, was led by Elliot Newsome, who was named the Player of the Year. In addition to Newsome, teammates Corbin Drum, Bailey Aderhold, Leah Gibson, Kate Chaffin and Casey Cao made all-conference.
Coach Josh Snyder of Reagan was named Coach of the Year. Also, Reagan’s Lydia Berger, Taylin Huynh, Tanuska Gowda and Emma Robinette made all-conference.
From Reynolds, Sarah Rhoades Cox, Noora Hosseinzadeh, Elizabeth Kim and Adrian York made all-conference. Mount Tabor’s Embrey Keever and Meredity Rodda, and Sawyer Wemyss of East Forsyth also made it.
