CLEMMONS — Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill will celebrate its 35th anniversary with several specials and activities on and following Mi Pueblo Day, which will take place on Monday, Nov. 25. All Mi Pueblo restaurants will close on Thursday, Nov. 28, for Thanksgiving.

Headquartered in Clemmons, Mi Pueblo is one of the oldest family-owned restaurants in the Winston-Salem area. Mi Pueblo opened its first restaurant on Oakwood Drive in Winston-Salem on Nov. 20, 1989, and has since expanded with locations in Charlotte, Concord, High Point, King and Statesville. The original Oakwood Drive restaurant no longer exists, but Mi Pueblo has two locations in Winston-Salem: Stratford Road and Reynolda Road.

To commemorate its 35th anniversary, Mi Pueblo will offer 20-ounce lime-flavored margaritas on the rocks for $3.50 each from Monday, Nov. 25, through Sunday, Dec. 1. Mi Pueblo also will feature additional specials on Monday, Nov. 25 only:

  • All appetizers will be half off
  • All ACP entrees will be half off
  • “Make your own combos” will be half off

“Mi Pueblo represents the story of my family, which was deeply rooted in Jalisco, Mexico, and eventually journeyed first to Atlanta, then Winston-Salem to create the American dream of a thriving restaurant business that has become a cornerstone of our local community,” Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill Managing Director Diego Ruiz said. “Our opening day in 1989 was so successful with huge lines outside the restaurant that my family had to close the following two days to have time to return to Atlanta to bring more cooks back to Winston-Salem.

“The entire Mi Pueblo family loves North Carolina, and we are incredibly proud to have been in business for 35 years. I thank our dedicated employees, and I hope the public will join us on Mi Pueblo Day on Nov. 25 and the days following to celebrate our 35th anniversary with us.”

Mi Pueblo is a family owned and operated restaurant. In addition to the Lewisville-Clemmons Road in Clemmons restaurant, there are nine other locations:

• University City in Charlotte
• Sardis Road in Charlotte
• Bayfield Parkway in Concord/Kannapolis
• Northpoint Avenue and Tinsley Drive in High Point
• South Main Street in King
• Northcross Lane in Statesville
• Reynolda Road and Stratford Road in Winston-Salem
