Zenger tapped as conference co-chair

The N.C. House Republican Caucus elected Rep. Jeff Zenger of Forsyth County to sever as conference co—chair for the 2025—2026 legislative session.

He will serve alongside Rep. Matthew Winslow of Franklin County.

“I appreciate the caucus trusting me to serve as their conference co—chair,” Zenger said in a press release. “I am looking forward to working with my colleague to help further the caucus’ goal.”

This is the first time that Zenger has held a leadership position in the House Republican Caucus.

Others elected to leadership positions were:

  • Speaker of the House — Destin Hall
  • Speaker Pro Tempore — Michael Setzer
  • Majority Leader — Brenden Jones
  • Dep. Majority Leader — Steve Tyson
  • Majority Whip — Karl Gillespie
  • Joint Caucus Leader — Harry Warren
  • Freshman Leader — Heather Rhyne
