CLEMMONS — The Clemmons Food Pantry will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Dec. 7. The event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at Clemmons United Methodist Church, home to the Spiritual Growth Sunday School class that established the Clemmons Food Pantry in 2004.

Members of the community are invited to this 20th anniversary event to learn more about the Clemmons Food Pantry and find out ways to get involved in its mission to reduce hunger by providing supplemental groceries to residents of Forsyth County and surrounding communities. In addition to sharing a vision for the future, the event will highlight the 20-year history of growth and accomplishments.

The Clemmons Food Pantry board president attributes the organization’s success and longevity to the generosity of its volunteers, donors and community partners.

“Our volunteers contribute countless hours to our operations — collecting, rescuing, storing  and shelving food daily. They are united in their passion to serve and a commitment to our core values,” President Jackie Hundt said. “Our donors and community partners enable us to stay open year round, so we can provide regular access to healthy, nutritious food.”

Clients shopping at the Clemmons Food Pantry agree, with one client recently writing, “My children and I always look forward to coming and receiving the generous amount of great food. Seriously, you guys have the best selection of food that is delicious and nutritious. Thanks so much for what y’all do. The volunteers are the real MVPs. For real you guys are so wonderful and amazing. The nice people make the visit even better.”
