Myra “Faye” Hilton Rierson
Mrs. Myra “Faye” Hilton Rierson, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, with her daughter by her side. She was born on Jan. 27, 1935, in Winston-Salem to the late Willian Thomas Hilton and Elva Crowder Hilton. Mrs. Rierson was raised in Winston-Salem and graduated from Gray High School where she met and married the love of her life, Ronald “Ronnie” Rierson on Feb. 13, 1954.
She worked as a secretary/receptionist for J.G. Messick and Sons until retirement. She was an avid golfer and made her claim to fame with a hole-in-one ahead of her husband. Faye was a member of the Tanglewood Ladies’ Golf Association where she served as vice president and president of the club. She enjoyed being a part of and hosting couples’ and ladies’ bridge group and played bridge with dear friends in the ladies’ group up until her passing. Faye looked forward to her monthly “Lunch Bunch” gatherings. After retirement, Faye took on learning how to smock and enjoyed knitting and reading for many years until her eyesight began to decline.
Faye loved the Lord and was an involved, dedicated member of Clemmons First Baptist Church, she was an active member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class, which she held close to her heart. She was a family lady, she loved everyone so dearly and took every opportunity to be with them, regardless of whether they were near or far.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Ronnie; two sisters, Phyllis Hilton Armstrong and Janet Hilton Burton; a brother, William Harrison Hilton; and two very dear aunts Ola Roberta Crowder and Ida Crowder Nading.
Left to cherish her loving memory is her daughter, Carol Cearley (Tom) of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Ashley Ward (Mathew) of Bryan, Texas, and Wesley Cearley (Marcie) of Arden; and great-grandchildren, Griffin Cearley of Arden, and Madeline and Catherine Ward of Bryan, Texas.
