Sean Cooper was recognized on Jan. 15 as the Rotary Club of Clemmons Student of the Month for January.
Cooper’s English teacher at West called him a “leader in the classroom” adding that he “inspires others to stay focused and get work done. He’s a delight to teach and he positively impacts his peers with his good attitude and his strong work ethic.”
Cooper maintains a strong grade point average while balancing a rigorous schedule of sports, music, yearbook and working at local restaurants.
As a member and captain of the tennis team, Cooper was recognized as all conference in 2023 and 2024. He was the recipient of the Coaches Award in 2024.
He’s a member of the school orchestra and received all-county honors in 2023 and 2024.
Outside of school, Cooper stays busy in other tennis activities including the 2024 Clemson Tennis Camp where he was named the Top Tiger Camper of the Week and the 2023 Southeastern Team Championships where he received the Sportsmanship Award.
In addition, Cooper has stayed busy working at Zaxby’s in Advance and Cracker Barrel in Clemmons and received the 2024 Cracker Barrel Team Player Award.
After graduation he is moving to South Carolina, where he will begin taking classes in preparation for obtaining a nursing degree. He will be starting out at Horry Georgetown Technical College and plans to start a physical fitness coaching business.
“The Rotary Club of Clemmons congratulates Sean for his accomplishments and contributions to his school and community,” a release from the organization said.
