Michele Alessio

Mr. Michele Alessio, 79, of Pfafftown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020. He was born in Calabria, Italy, on July 5, 1941, to the late Francesco and Francesca Squillaci Alessio. Alessio lived in New York City for most of his life after moving from Italy. He was a jack-of-all-trades, invented a few inventions, and could fix anything. In addition to his parents, Alessio is preceded in death by his step-mother, Filomena Alessio, and two sisters, Josephine Alessio and Assunta Dima. He is survived by his loving wife, Maryann Alessio; daughter, Francesca Alessio (Vinny Marchese) of New York City; two sons, Michael Alessio Jr. and Salvatore Alessio; two grandchildren, Salvatore Alessio Jr. and Annalisa Rosado; four brothers; three sisters; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alessio was greatly loved and will be missed by all.

Peter Michael Angione

Mr. Peter Michael Angione, 40, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020. He was born March 8, 1980, in New York to John and Michele Capochino Angione. Angione enjoyed snowboarding, mountain biking and swimming. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Marcello and Helen Capochino, and paternal grandparents, Rosario and Filomena Angione; uncles, Frank Capochino, Joseph Angione and Frank Angione. Surviving are his parents, John and Michele Angione; brother, Jon Paul Angione; two aunts, Antoinette Grundig and Teresa Grassi; nephew, Jon Paul Angione Jr.; two nieces, Gabriella Angione and Isabella Angione; also surviving is his dog, “Neko.” A memorial mass was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. James Stuhrenberg officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 500 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Ashlee Marie Boger

Ms. Ashlee Marie Boger, 31, of Advance, passed away on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1989, in Forsyth County to Jeff and Loretta Boger. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Jake Boger, and her maternal grandmother, Glenda Boger. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jim S. Boger and grandparents, Willie “Bill” and Geraldine Pilcher. Boger loved to laugh and smile. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her mother, watching Duke basketball, going to the beach, and all types of music.  Boger graduated from Davie High School in 2007 and received her associate degree in healthcare administration from Forsyth Technical Community College. A memorial service will be conducted at Bixby Presbyterian Church outside arbor by Mr. Tim Dunn at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020. The family will receive friends following the service. Marion Johnson Hodges

Mr. Marion Johnson Hodges, 81, of Clemmons, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020. Hodges was born in Richmond County on Feb. 26, 1939, to the late David William Hodges and Pearl Bowen Hodges. He graduated from Sanford Senior High School.  Hodges worked at J.W. Burress, Inc., retiring from a job that he loved after 33 years of service. Hodges was an active member of Ardmore Baptist Church. He cherished the relationships he made through his job, church and neighborhood. He enjoyed coaching R.A. basketball for 13 years, playing softball for the church and was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, Hodges was preceded in death by a brother, Larry L. Hodges. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hill Hodges of the home; two daughters, Evonne H. Galloway (Greg) of Kannapolis, and Terri H. Fortune (Eric) of Wake Forest; three grandchildren, Alicia Galloway of Kannapolis, Ethan Fortune and Carly Fortune, both of Wake Forest; one brother, Richard D. Hodges of Raleigh; one sister, Darlene Osborne (Vernon) of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private service to celebrate Hodges’s life will be held at Ardmore Baptist Church with Rev. Christa Warise officiating. Hodges loved his church, family, ice cream and the Tar Heels. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to their neighbors, church family, and Amedisys Hospice Care for the compassion and love shown to their family during Hodges’ illness. Charles Stradley Stovall

Mr. Charles Stradley Stovall, 79, of Bermuda Run, entered the more immediate presence of our savior after a sudden illness on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020. Stovall was the son of the late Julian Baird and Frances Watkins Stovall. He was born in Granville County on Nov. 18, 1940, and lived in Oxford during his childhood until he graduated from Wake Forest University in 1963. Following graduation, Stovall served as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army for two years where he was stationed in Fort Stewart, Georgia. He worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company in marketing and sales for 34 years until his retirement as senior account manager in 1999. Stovall was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church for 36 years where he served on the Board of Trustees and the Child Services Committee. He also served on the board of the Clemmons Fire Department for almost 40 years. Most of all, Stovall cherished spending time with his family, playing golf and watching sports, especially the Demon Deacons. Stovall is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rebecca Sue “Susie” Johnson; his daughter, Suzanne Mann (John) of Advance, and their daughters Ashton and Alexis; a son, Chip Stovall (Carol) of Overland Park, Kansas, and their children Anna and Charlie; one sister, Ann Stovall Ruff of Memphis, Tennessee; and numerous cousins. A private graveside service was held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Clemmons Moravian Church with the Rev. Christopher Thore officiating. Monty Darin Watkins

Mr. Monty Darin Watkins, 55, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, while riding his bicycle at Salem Lake with his friends. Watkins was born April 17, 1965, in Forsyth County. He graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1983 and served five years in the U.S. Army. Watkins was a member of Lexwin Baptist Church and asked God into his life and was baptized at South Fork Baptist Church. He loved every minute working for Travis Bean at the Clemmons Bicycle Shop in Clemmons. Surviving are his parents, Richard and Becky Watkins of Winston-Salem; his daughter, Jessika Watkins of Germany and her three boys; a son, Ryan Watkins of Lexington and his daughter, Locklynn of Winston-Salem. Watkins was loved by so many of his Army buddies that he still stayed in touch with. He will greatly be missed by all. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor John Hackworth officiating. The family received friends following the service at the cemetery.
