The members of Clemmons Presbyterian Church, located at 3930 Clemmons Road in Clemmons, are aware of the fact that local charities, this year more than ever, are striving to keep up with the food security issues that grip our nation at this time. Through the efforts of the missions ministry at the church, two local food pantries are supported with food donations and funding from the church on a continuous and rotating basis for many years with a shopping cart stationed in the Narthex for collection. Due to decreased donations during the summer months, the missions ministry sponsored a very successful donation drive during the month of August.

Laura Geyer transports donations from the church to Storehouse For Jesus, located in Mocksville, that serve families in Davie and surrounding counties. Sydney Cunningham (Syd) volunteers at Clemmons Food Pantry, a local non-profit organization that provides groceries to the residents of Forsyth County who are in need, and is actually one of the largest pantries in the region.

The youth of Clemmons Presbyterian Church, grades 6-12, have named themselves GOOTH (group of youth) participate in various service projects throughout the year. Under the direction of the Youth Council and Advisors led by Rev. Jodi Lingan, the GOOTH carried out its annual Food Drive Service Project around Thanksgiving this year. After learning about how COVID-19 has contributed to the growing food needs in our area, they went into the surrounding neighborhoods of the church and distributed grocery bags with flyer attached one weekend offering to pick up donations and returning the following weekend to pick up donations left on porches. They received a very generous response from the 250 bags they distributed, with a total 909 pounds of food, and 15 pounds of toiletries.
