Steven Neil Abee

Mr. Steven Neil Abee, of Clemmons, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on March 25, 1962, in Forsyth County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Jacob and Jackie Byrd Abee and brothers, George Tipton Abee and Patrick Abee. Survivors include brother, Alan Bradley Abee (Beth) of Winston-Salem; a half-sister, Sharon Bolling (Bob) of Clemmons and nephews, Bob Bolling Jr. (Janet) of King and Shawn Abee of Winston-Salem. The family wishes to thank Abee’s friends in and around the Cardinal Shopping Center, and especially Mark and John, who helped and looked after Abee these last few years. Also, the family would like to thank the nurses and staff in the Trauma ICU Unit at WFBMC for their care of Abee over the last week of his life. No services will be held at this time. Betty Elliott Bearden

Betty Elliott Bearden, 83, of Walhalla, S.C., passed away peacefully on Aug. 4, 2021. She was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Walhalla to George William Elliott and Bethel Eleanor (Lee) Elliott. Bearden was the oldest of three sisters: Pat Lee, Joann Phillips, and Gail Ellenburg. She and her former spouse Charles Glenn Bearden had three children. She attended Walhalla High School and lived most of her life in Greensboro. Most recently of Fort Mill, S.C., she was a member of Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Bearden will be remembered by her partner, Cecil Reavis, daughter Lisa Sloan (John) of Lewisville, son Jeff Bearden (Miriam) of Asheville, and daughter Julie Merritt (Brad) of Fort Mill, S.C. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister, Joann of Anderson, S.C., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by sisters Gail Ellenburg and Pat Lee. A memorial service and interment were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Westminster, S.C. Visitation was at 1 p.m. in the Heritage Memorial Gardens Chapel. A celebration of Bearden’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Mill, S.C. Michael Lee Dancy

Mr. Michael Lee Dancy, 43, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021.

Dancy was born on Sept. 5, 1977, in Italy to Robert and Rená Dancy. He graduated from Reynolds High School and attended Western Carolina University. He loved the Lord and was a member of Revo Church. In his free time, Dancy enjoyed playing golf and basketball and was a fan of all sports. He had a big personality and loved to clown around and joke with his family and friends. Most of all, he was a loving father to his two children, Caeden and Aubrey. Dancy was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother, Donald Wade Dancy.

Dancy is survived by his children, Caeden Dancy and Aubrey Dancy; former wife, Allie Dancy; parents, Robert and Rená Dancy; brother, Steven Dancy (Shai); aunt and uncle, Cindy and Rick Flanner; niece, Natalie Quick; nephew, Mason Dancy; and several cousins.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Family received friends one hour prior.

Doris Lee Beauchamp Foltz

Mrs. Doris Lee Beauchamp Foltz, 93, passed away at Forsyth Memorial Hospital on Monday, Aug. 2, 2021. She was born Nov. 29, 1927, in Davie County to Ethel Howard Beauchamp and Eddie Graham Beauchamp. She was a faithful and longtime member of Friedberg Moravian Church, until her health prevented her from attending. She was married to Herman Eugene Foltz on Feb. 10, 1951. They were blessed with two daughters, Lynne Foltz Bostick (Joey) of Pamplico, S.C., and Susan Leigh Foltz of Winston-Salem; as well as two grandchildren, Leigh Bostick Collins (Cliff) of Florence, S.C., and Joseph “Joe” L. Bostick (Jay) of Houston, Texas. She was also blessed with five very special great-grandchildren, Jason “JJ” Bostick, Hoyt Collins, Tyler Bostick, Graham Collins and Gillian Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Eugene Foltz; and brothers, Olin Beauchamp and Charles Beauchamp. She is survived by her sister, Nancy B. Norman (Larry) of Thomasville.

A graveside service for family and friends was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, in God’s Acre at Friedberg Moravian Church, 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem, with the Rev. James C. Newsome Jr. and Rev. Dan K. Nelson officiating. The family received friends after the graveside service in the church’s fellowship hall.

Catherine ‘Cathy’ Diane McCracken

Ms. Catherine “Cathy” Diane McCracken, 60, of Advance, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021. She was born Dec. 9, 1960, in Forsyth County. Surviving are parents, Sandra Gobble and Don Byerly; sons, Jeremy Byerly and Donald Ray McCracken Jr.; sister, Melinda Swaim; brothers, Donnie Byerly and Terry Martin; and her ex-husband, Donald Ray McCracken Sr. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is assisting the family.

Betty Thomas Myers

Mrs. Betty Thomas Myers, 86, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, at her home. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Frank Lafayette and Lucy Cornish Thomas on April 18, 1935. Myers was a member of Elbaville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed serving others and loved to cook and bake. She loved her family and was a very loving mother and grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, James D. Myers; brother, Ray Thomas and a sister-in-law, Louise Thomas. Surviving is a son, Kent Myers (Daryl Gillis); daughter, Jan Moore; step-daughter, Tina Englebert; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a God-given daughter, Lora Carter. A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family received friends prior to the graveside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.

Albert Noone Jr.

Albert Michael Noone Jr., 79, passed away Saturday July 24, 2021. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

Noone was born March 10, 1942, in Bronx County New York to Albert Michael Noone and Margaret Elizabeth Kunz Noone. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force Security Services. His parents and a brother, Kenneth Noone preceded him in death. He was  a member of United States USAFSS and proud of his military service. He was an avid amateur radio operator and a member of Forsyth County Amateur Radio Club.

Surviving are his loving wife, Tamzon Hopper Noone; son, Albert Michael Noone III (Robin) of Lewisville; and daughter, Katrina Leigh Cockerham of Clemmons. Also surviving are grandchildren, Conner, Isabella and Jacob and a brother, Richard Noone of California.

Terry Wayne Tuttle

Mr. Terry Wayne Tuttle passed away peacefully at his home at Strickland Place in Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community on Aug. 2, 2021, after a courageous 12-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Tuttle was born on April 26, 1946, to Irene Tuttle in Winston-Salem. He grew up in Clemmons, surrounded by the love of his mother, grandparents, and 10 aunts and uncles. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1964 and studied drafting at Forsyth Technical College. Tuttle served his country as an Army medic with the 312th Evacuation Hospital of the Army Reserve in Chu Lai, Vietnam, and often referred to the television series M*A*S*H to convey to his family what life was like during his time in Vietnam. He worked in mechanical contracting for The Bahnson Company in Winston-Salem, Gamewell Mechanical in Salisbury, and Robertson Service Company in Charlotte. In 1980, he and his wife Janice purchased Hedgepeth Dry Cleaners and Shirt Laundry from James and Marjorie Hedgepeth in Winston-Salem. After he retired, his loyal customers called him at home on occasion in hopes that he would come back to work. Tuttle owned and operated Hedgepeth until 2003 when he retired to care for his mother. He loved to travel and fish and took several dream fishing trips to Alaska and also to Canada, trips to the Pacific Northwest with his son John, a trip to Italy with his daughter Melissa, and cruise vacations with Debbie Dosek, and their families. He was actively involved in Clemmons United Methodist Church serving as an usher, volunteering in the food pantry, and was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was also a treasurer of the Clemmons Fire Department. Tuttle was the most hard-working, determined, generous, and sharply dressed man people knew. He was a devoted son and loving father who set an example for his children and grandchildren on how to live life. He quietly helped those who were struggling, and he touched many lives during his time on earth. Tuttle will forever be remembered in the family’s hearts. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Irene Tuttle Holt; grandparents, Oscar and Etta Griffin Tuttle; uncles, Russell, Dwight, and Hilary Tuttle, and aunts, Alma T. Frye, Pauline T. James, Margaret T. Tucker, Marie T. Cope, Iva Lee T. Wagoner, and Shirley T. Newman, and loving father and mother-in-law, Max and Clara Paige Cook. Tuttle is survived by his daughter, Melissa Tuttle (Mark Shaw) and son, John Tuttle (Stephanie Combes), grandchildren Henry, Stephen and Clara Tuttle; uncle, Wiley Tuttle; ex-wife, Janice Tuttle; girlfriend of 30 years Debbie Dosek, and many dear cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Arbor Acres who lovingly cared for him for seven and a half years. Special thanks to his nurses, Christy, Steve, Marie, Carrie, Anna, Kimmey, Suzanne, and Dawn, and his CNAs Angie, Tiffany, Vanessa, Lucie, Ashley, Nyasia, Paris, and Curtina. The family also wishes to thank the Rev. Laura Lee Jones, chaplain of Arbor Acres, nurse Jane and Chaplain Beverly with Trellis Supportive Care/Hospice of Winston-Salem, and the Rev. John Fitzgerald of Clemmons United Methodist Church for their love and support. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday Aug. 6, 2021, at Hayworth Miller Kinderton Chapel. A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at Clemmons United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Fitzgerald officiating. A graveside service with military honors followed at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
