Couriering Clemmons — This week in 1992:

The Lewisville Town Council held it’s regular monthly meeting and listened to concerns from its residents about the possibility of changing zip codes, recycling, voluntary annexation and dog leash laws.

Workers at the Edgar B. Furniture store dug up what turned out to be a time capsule — a glass jar filled with papers inside from students and staff at the old Clemmons High School that was 60 years old. Glenda Taylor had informed the employees at the furniture store that there were numerous of these time capsules buried on the grounds and had been asked to be notified if they discovered any. This particular time capsule had been buried on March 1, 1932, by two classes from the school.

The West Forsyth boys swim team won the city-county meet with a score of 108 points, easily holding off Mount Tabor, which finished with 82.

Scott Danielson led the Titans and set two new city-county records in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.

The girls team, led by Tracey Glazener, finished second with 84 points. Glazener also set new meet records for the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.

Both teams were coached by Jeff Thompson.

Lydia Laird of Clemmons received the District Award of Merit for her service to Boy Scout Troop 736, which was sponsored by the Clemmons Civic Club.

Tom Reebel of Boy Scout Troop 712, sponsored by Pine Grove United Methodist Church, was also recognized for his efforts in leading the Scouting for Food drive that collected food for those in need.

Bruce Bradley of Boy Scout Troop 736 was also recognized for serving as the chairman of the Boy Scout Eagle Board.
