Robert ‘Bob’ Coleman Jr.

Mr. Robert “Bob” Coleman Jr., 97, of Bermuda Run passed away, May 13, 2022. He was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Hartford, Connecticut, to the late Robert Coleman Sr. and Clara Louise Madden Coleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Lakens Coleman. Coleman served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1950. He worked for DuPont in several locations: Parlin, N.J., Brevard, N.C., Towanda, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware. He retired after 35 years. Coleman was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, he was a Scoutmaster, and he was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Coleman is survived by his children, Diane Thrash (Ted), Eileen Coleman and Elizabeth Coleman; grandchildren, Lindsey Porch, Jenna Thrash, Robert Palm, Katherine Palm, Jessica Coleman; and great-grandchildren, Addison and Jacob. Willard Rhod Collins

Willard Rhod Collins, 18, of Mocksville was born Aug. 13, 2003, to Richard and Lucretia Collins and was taken home May 14, 2022. Collins is proceeded in death by his father, Richard L. Collins and nephew Charles H. Marcum. Collins was a volunteer firefighter for Cornatzer-Dulin fire department in Mocksville. He recently completed his high school diploma at Davidson County Community College and was set to go to Army basic training the end of this month. Collins is survived by his mother Lucretia Collins; the love of his life Kailey Cain; son, Donovan Richard Collins; sisters, Ann Marcum (Lilyan) and Megan Weisenseel (Fred, Melodie, Freddie); and brothers, Richard Collins (Joy, J.T. Bri), Joshua Collins (Jammie) and Bradley Collins. Collins was the sweetest soul and would help anyone. He loved being active in church and working with kids. He had a passion for his love of cars and all things fast. He will be remembered through the love he had for Kailey and their son Donovan. Collins was the best son, brother and friend you could imagine. He would always be there to help anyone, anytime. A service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday May 21, 2022, at Carolina Bible Camp in Mocksville.

Reuben D. Hamlet Jr.

Mr. Reuben D. Hamlet, Jr., 82, formerly of Bermuda Run, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022. He was born May 23, 1939, in Wake County to Mabel Booker Hamlet and Reuben D. Hamlet Sr. Hamlet was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy and was a mortgage banker for many years and retired from BB&T. He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was and avid Tarheel fan. He loved his family, going to the beach and playing golf. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Minton Hamlet. Surviving are his daughters, Stefanie Hamlet of Clemmons and Leigh Hamlet-Thompson (Doug) of Charlotte; granddaughter, Jansen McDaniel (Nathan); and cousin, Jimmy Booker. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Interment will follow in Rose Cemetery in Mocksville. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. John Thomas McGee

John Thomas McGee, 73, passed away on May 14, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Health after a short illness. He was born in Forsyth County on Jan. 10, 1949, to the late William Thomas (Buck) McGee and Elsie Little McGee Morgan. McGee graduated from Parkland High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 and graduated from the U.S. Army Primary Helicopter School. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for six years. McGee was employed as a pilot for Baptist Hospital’s AirCare from 1990-1995. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant twin sisters. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Stacy Slater McGee; stepson, Chris Butner (Jennifer), and sister, Ann McGee Gregory; also surviving are nieces, Denise Gregory McGee (Hal) and Lisa Alverson; grand-niece, Anna Alverson Foutz (Justin); and grand-nephew, Will McGee. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Enon Baptist Church located in East Bend. The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
