Gladys Elizabeth DeWeese Belcher

Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth DeWeese Belcher, 68, of East Bend passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at her residence. Belcher was born in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Harvey Jacob DeWeese and Garnett St. Clair DeWeese on Nov. 20, 1953. Belcher enjoyed traveling, especially out west. She was always helping those in need, working and volunteering at the church and sewing quits for the sick. Belcher was a wonderful cook, baking pies and cakes, also homemade peanut butter milkshakes. She loved her family, and her fur babies, Maybelle and Lacy, and she will be dearly missed. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Harvey DeWeese. She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Belcher; daughters, Melissa Isaacs (Dale) and Gloria Boose (Montie); grandchildren, Jacob Hammond, Allie Ramey (Orion), Kaitlin Stevens, Joshua Stevens and Logan Boose; sisters, Juanita DeWeese and Marcia McGee. A funeral service was held at Temple Baptist Church, 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, with Pastor Josh Boles officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Carol ‘Sue’ Jean Martin Hartle

Carol “Sue” Jean Martin Hartle, 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at her home in Clemmons. Hartle was born on April 3, 1940, in Forsyth County to the late Willie P. Martin and Mary K. Marshall Martin. Hartle loved flowers and enjoyed spending time at the beach. She was strong and a determined fighter, especially during her illness. Most of all, she loved everyone and was a good woman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Hartle Sr.; son, Jody Wayne Desourdy; and sister, Sandra Jo Gobble. Surviving family includes daughters, April Desourdy, Melanie Mellott, Tina Mickle and Terri Stacey; son, Donnie Hartle Jr.; brother, Terry Martin; two nieces; one nephew; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at noon on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Doug Klein officiating, with burial immediately following the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends one hour prior the service at the funeral home.

Brittany Dawn Harrison Kingery

Brittany Dawn Harrison Kingery, 35, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022. She was born Feb. 1, 1987, in Forsyth County. Kingery graduated from West Forsyth High School in 2005 and attended UNC Charlotte. She was a member of Center Grove Church and was employed by the Forsyth Humane Society. Kingery loved soccer, going to the beach and she poured out her heart into everything that she did. She is survived by her parents, Dean and Debbie Harrison; sisters, Dee Alligood (Kevin) and Denise Harrison (Austin); niece, Charlotte Alligood and nephew, Riley Harrison; her five fur babies; and grandmother, Carolyn Harrison. Also surviving are many other family and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Sylvia Messick and Willard Harrison. She loved being “Aunt Scoob” to her beloved niece Charlotte and her nephew Riley. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Center Grove Church with Dr. Steve Corts officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

Norma Jean Wilmoth McLaurine

Mrs. Norma Jean Wilmoth McLaurine, 83, of Clemmons passed away on Friday June 3, 2022, at her home. She was born on April 6, 1939, to William Early Wilmoth and Bessie Wood Wilmoth. She loved to be outdoors, fishing and working in her garden. She was also an avid gamer and had a special love for the Mario games. McLaurine also loved reading her Danielle Steel novels. She was married to her husband, Earle McLaurine, for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband; children Earle McLaurine Jr. and Tammy McLaurine Peace; and sisters Bonnie Scott (Bobby) and Lois Douthit (Danny). She is also survived by her nieces Jennifer McKnight (Danny) and Angie Douthit. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday June 9, 2022, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. Rev. Truett Williams will be officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the team at Trellis hospice homes of Mocksville.

Faye Evans Sprouse

Faye Evans Sprouse, 82, of Clemmons passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Sprouse was born in Davie County on Nov. 15, 1939. She worked for Piedmont Aviation for 43 years before retiring in 2004. Sprouse never met a stranger, loved her family and friends and was the sweetest and kindest person you will ever meet. She was preceded in death by her parents Seymour Evans and Ruby Evans and her beloved dogs, Maggie and Angus. She is survived by her husband Edgar Sprouse; son Timothy Plott (Tina) and children Tyler, Gabe and Jack; a stepdaughter Brenda Sprouse (Steve) and daughter Savannah; a brother Mark Evans (Brenda) and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Clemmons Moravian Church with Rev. Christopher C. Thore officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sprouse’s memory can be made to the Humane Society of Davie County. The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Medical Center and the Kate B.
